united house supports City of London homeless charity

On Friday 25th July United House presented the homeless charity Broadway with a new vehicle to help the charity in its work with rough sleepers in the City of London.

United House and its residential division, United House Developments, are currently undertaking the prestigious redevelopment of Frobisher Crescent in the Barbican Estate. United House Developments has an ongoing presence in the City of London with schemes including Hosier Lane, Saracen Apartments and Knights Court. As a result, United House Group is committed to helping Broadway and the City of London provide support and assistance to rough sleepers whilst making the streets a safer place for all concerned.

Jeffrey Adams, CEO of United House Group comments:'We are delighted to provide Broadway with this vehicle that will enable them to transport people more quickly and safely into accommodation. The work Broadway does is vital in rehabilitating and re-housing thousands of homeless people in the City of London every year. We wish them every success in achieving their goals now and into the future.'

Since it was established in April of this year, the Broadway City Outreach Team, a partnership between Broadway, City of London Corporation, the Police and the Safer City Partnership, has helped to reduce the number of rough sleepers by 23.8% and hopes this number will now increase as a result of the new car provided by United House. The vehicle provided is a low emission economical car that is exempt from London’s congestion charge.

Howard Sinclair, CEO of Broadway comments: 'It is extremely important that Broadway is able to respond to people’s immediate needs through our street outreach service. The generous support of United House in donating the car will directly enable even more people to come off the streets and start their journey from street to home. We are therefore delighted that United House has chosen to support Broadway’s work in this way.'
