United House contributes to sustainable communities across our projects. We believe that regeneration should go beyond the traditional 'bricks and mortar' element of refurbishment.
Diverse communities
The essence of Sustainable Communities is the provision of places where people want to live and work, now and in the future. We know that communities have different and diverse needs within relatively small geographical areas and we work closely with individual communities; assisting their consultation and planning process.
Balanced housing markets
Our involvement varies from project to project,
|
as does the scope of the changes. We work in areas where altering the tenure mix is the key to regeneration, leading to a balanced local housing market.
Local involvement
We are keen to contribute to the local community, tailored as far as possible to local requirements:- Local Labour Schemes - many of our projects set and meet stringent targets for the percentage of local labour on our sites
- Apprentices - we have an excellent track record in employing and training apprentices
- Community Involvement - we contribute to local initiatives including schools, community groups and similar
