Location: Swanley & High Wycombe

Reporting to: Design & Technical Director

Key relationships: Technical Manager, Construction Manager, Bid Manager/Estimating, Surveying, Internal/External Clients, Consultants

Hours: 9.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday with one hour for lunch, or such additional hours as are necessary for the proper performance of your duties.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
  • Assist in the day to day management and coordination of consultants, design, planning and technical aspects on a number of projects to ensure delivery within the constraints of time, quality, budget and technical requirements.
  • Assist in the establishment and upkeep of a knowledge centre for design, technical and planning aspects of UHL construction operations.
  • Assist in the control, registration and distribution of design and technical information relating to projects.
  • Liaison with departmental teams and Group Companies in preparation of project costing and design works.
  • Assist in the establishment of standard procedures.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
  • Appointment and management of external Consultants.
  • Production and monitoring of technical development programme in conjunction with construction team to suit project programme.
  • Monitoring works undertaken by designers and consultants to ensure compliance with brief, statutory requirements and co-ordination with other designers.
  • Ensuring production of information by designers as required under CDM and relevant Health and Safety legislation.

  • Production of Contractors Proposals from client’s brief.
  • Liaison with statutory bodies in respect of highways matters, sectional agreements, existing service provision and diversions.
  • Working with design team to resolve clearance of planning conditions, building regulation approval, project insurance conditions, party wall conditions, SDS/SBD conditions, SAP ratings etc:
  • Liaison with subcontractors and suppliers with design input.
  • Assisting in the upkeep of project drawing registers.
  • Attendance at pre-start and project meetings as required.
  • Production of technical information to assist Sales.
  • Oversee production of ‘as-built‘ information at project completion

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the above.
