VACANCIES - Project Manager

Location: Swanley/Greater London/Home Counties

Reporting to: Divisional Director/Construction Manager

Hours: 8.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday with half an hour for lunch, plus such additional hours as may be necessary for the effective performance of the duties.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Ensure that sites and contracts under his/her jurisdiction are managed efficiently with the object of maximising profitability whilst maintaining high standards of quality. Responsible for ensuring that projects are managed in accordance with the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and Procedures. Direct, motivate and instruct subordinate staff to assist them in achieving their full potential.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
  • The timely production, in conjunction with his Divisional Director/Contracts Manager and Site Manager of the requisite programmes including the programming of sub contract works, project control plans and inspection and test plans. Monitoring and reporting progress against programme and quality control following periodic visits to site.
  • The setting up, together with the Divisional Director/Contracts Manager and the Project Surveyor, of sub-contract packages.
  • The provision of the necessary documentation, plus 'latest order by' dates, to ensure that the Chief Buyer has sufficient information to place purchase orders on the most beneficial terms for the Company.
  • Responsible to the Divisional Director/Manager for the monitoring the schedule of deliveries and liaising with suppliers where appropriate to ensure that specified delivery dates are complied with.
  • Instruct and monitor site management to ensure that the requisite progress and quality levels are achieved. Ensuring compliance with the Company's Management Systems insofar as they are applicable to Project Management.
  • Responsible for the management of projects allocated to him/her and for ensuring the on-site staff perform their duties to the requirements of the project and in accordance with the Company’s Management Systems.
  • In conjunction with the Divisional Director/ Manager, and others in the project management team, make sure that all instructions received are confirmed in writing and that the Company's contractual position is protected at all times by maintenance of accurate site records and timely correspondence.
  • Liaise with the Architect, the Supervising Officer and others appointed by the Employer or his professional advisers in connection with the project.
  • Oversee the Defects Liability work and ensuring compliance with Management Systems in respect thereof.
  • Liaise with the project Quantity Surveyors in matters concerning measurement, claims and cost reporting.
  • Such other duties in connection with or allied to the management of package contracts as are instructed from time to time by the Divisional Director/Manager
.CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
  • Previous New Build and Refurb/Fit Out experience essential
  • Management experience essential
