Department: Health and Safety
Location: Swanley, Sites in London and the South-East
Reporting to: Health and Safety Manager
Hours: 9.00 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday
with one hour for lunch or such additional hours as are necessary for the proper performance of your duties.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Health & Safety Advisor is responsible for supporting the Health & Safety Manager in providing Health & Safety advice to Site Management and for monitoring and reporting on site Health & Safety performance.
SPECIFIC DUTIES- Stay abreast of current legislation and industry drivers.
- Promote Health & Safety to all on site.
- Act as first point of contact for Site Management regarding Health & Safety issues.
- Assist Site Management in the formulation of the site H&S plan.
- Advise Site Management on method statements and safe methods of working.
- Advise Site Management on the delivery and content of training on site-specific topics.
- Maintain the relationship with external Health & Safety advisors.
- Advise on the implementation, maintenance and improvement the Health & Safety management system.

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
- Experience with a major new-build or construction contractor.
- Qualified typically, MIOSH, Tech IOSH or MIIRSM..
- Pro-active / self motivated.
- Strong communication skills.
