United House

CSR and Charities

Giving something back

Charity-giving forms a major part of our CSR programme and United House has, over the last 47 years, been actively involved in supporting numerous worthwhile causes.

We currently work with a main corporate charity partner, City of London homelessness charity Broadway, an association that began in 2007. As well as raising much needed funds, we have refurbished two properties, significantly reducing their overheads. We have also provided Broadway with a vehicle to help deliver their services to people sleeping rough across the capital.

In 2010 we embarked on a three-year package to refurbish, free of charge, approximately 50 properties a year for Real Lettings (Broadway’s property lettings agency) to provide long term accommodation for homeless people to help them on their journey from street to home.

Staff at United House nominate two ‘charities of the year’ every December. In 2011 staff raised £4,650 for EllenorLions Hospices through various fundraising events and initiatives and £3,955 was raised for world-renowned Help for Heroes.

For 2012, staff once again voted for EllenorLions Hospices and Help for Heroes.
