Construction: the engine room of our business

From a contractor that was once primarily known for its refurbishment expertise, United House has undergone a radical transformation in recent years. Our new build programme now includes delivery of more than 500 social and private residential homes, care and extra care homes and accommodation for keyworkers.

As the engine room of the business, it is responsible for providing all construction services to the Group as well as community regeneration.

United House can provide expert consultancy, planning, and construction services. We are driving innovation and the need to address the dual issues of fuel poverty and carbon reduction through modern methods of construction and offsite solutions such as structural insulated panels (SIPs).

We are constructing to high levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM standards. We have developed a proposal to build the first care home in the country to PassivHaus standards and have recently constructed the first seven storey timber frame home in the UK.

However, it is no longer simply about houses. Community regeneration involves distinct skills and the ability to work collaboratively with many different stakeholders. Our aim is to leave a lasting legacy long after our projects have been delivered.

Our construction ethos is driven by the aspirations of residents as much as by sustainability and technical innovation. This requires a commitment to the highest levels of customer service and an in-depth understanding of working in people's homes. We have delivered over 250,000 homes working with residents in occupation and were the first contractor to introduce Resident Liaison Officers.
